FULL TIME PROGRAM

This course is ideal for people who have never worked in a child care center and wish to gain knowledge and experience and obtain  their CDA.

Days: Thursday

Time: 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Tuition: $3,200

Hrs: 600 consisting of

120 hours classroom and

480 hours fieldwork in a daycare facility will be provided.

Financial Aid now available for the

600-hr program!

Start: September 9, 2010

End: May 26, 2011

PART TIME PROGRAM

This course is ideal for people who are already working or volunteering in a daycare or preschool setting and would like to obtain their CDA.

Days: Thursday

Time: 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Tuition: $1,100

Hrs: 120 classroom hours will be provided.  Student is responsible for an additional 480 hours of documented fieldwork prior to end date to obtain completion certificate and CDA.

Start: September 9, 2010

End: May 2011

How do I apply?

Print the application form below or pick one up at our Adult Resource Center.  Fill it out completely and turn in with a minimum of $300 to start class.

 

Requirements: 18 yrs of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and FBI/BCI background check.

 

 

 

Child Care Teacher/Director

Family Child Care Provider

During the early childhood years,birth through age 5, every moment is an opportunity for children to learn more about the world around them, to develop social skills, and to gain critical thinking skills and knowledge.

This course will prepare you to become a childcare teacher, daycare provider, pre-school teacher or director.

You will also prepare for the CDA (Child Development Associate Credential).

Coursework includes a wide variety of topics including:

  • Growth & Development
  • Childhood Expectation
  • Disciplining Techniques
  • Dealing with Difficult Children
  • Cultural & Family Diversity
  • Communicable Disease
  • First Aid
  • Child Abuse
  • How to manage your program operation...and more

CPR is available through the Public Safety department.

Information and documentation of fieldwork hours provided for the “Child Development Associate” (CDA) credential. 


CDA Testing additional $325

Your CDA credential will enable you to increase your skills in childcare development and possibly move into advanced positions.

We also offer seminars and workshops that are open to the public to further your career and enhance the quality of childcare in our area.
