The 900-hour Medical Assistant Program prepares the student to work both administratively and clinically. Coursework includes basic patient care including: taking patient history, vital signs, drawing blood, etc. besides office skills like receptionist duties, billing, coding, and medical transcription.
Students will learn the obligations and responsibilities of the medical assistant vocation as well as the opportunities. Possible employment in the healthcare field includes: Physician’s Offices, clinics and laboratories.
According to the United States Labor Statistics, Medical Assisting is projected to be one of the fastest growing occupations through 2010.
