College TECH PREP Health Careers is a two-year program that prepares students for a career in the medical field. First year students learn a basic health care curriculum. Health Careers 2 students have the option of continuing with advanced patient care.
1-Core Curriculum In Health Careers 1 you will learn basic skills that the vast majority of Health Care Workers should have. The Health Careers 1-Core Curriculum includes: Safety practices Infection control CPR and First Aid Vital signs Nurse assistant skills Medical assistant skills Dental assistant skills Physical therapy skills Intro to anatomy and physiology Intro to medical terminology Personal qualities Careers in health care Health care systems Communications / technology Employability skills
2-Diversified In Health Careers 2-Diversified, you will learn advanced skills related to various health occupations. The Health Careers 2-Diversified Curriculum includes: Legal and ethical responsibilities Growth and development Geriatric care Cultural diversity State Tested Nurses Aid Advanced nurse assistant skills Electrocardiography (ECG) Laboratory assistant skills Phlebotomy First Responder Anatomy and physiology Medical terminology Employability skills Clinical experience in long term care facilities and hospitals Medical office procedures Computer Science
