What a great year and Happy Summer

| June 2, 2023

Greetings from Apollo Career Center and happy summer!
May is always a busy month for schools and Apollo Career Center is no exception. Community service projects, Student Awards Assembly, National Technical Honor Society Induction, Signing Day and Senior Honors Night are just a few of the events that were successfully implemented by Apollo’s dedicated staff. Signing Day highlights our students commitment to college, career or military. We had an excellent turnout of proud parents, employers, college reps and military recruiters. Special recognitions and scholarships were awarded including the Partners for a Skilled Workforce Scholarships during the Awards Assembly.

It has been a successful year for Apollo staff, students and workforce development culminating with an 88% passage rate on WebXams, over 300 seniors graduating with a minimum of 12 points of Industry Recognized Credentials, and 2001 credentials earned by junior and senior students.  In addition, over 50 apprentices were placed with 27 different companies across the region.

We have begun the process of getting Next Ready for the 2023-2024 school year, planning for the in-coming class of 586 which will break the record for enrollment numbers again. As a stakeholder and part of the community we serve, you are always top of mind when we make decisions that impact workforce development. We know that our success relies on your support and belief in the training we provide to adult and high school students. Thank you for your partnership and your commitment to education and workforce development.

Sincerely,

Keith Horner
Superintendent, Apollo Career Center

Congratulations Class of 2023!
